Since you use the term "wizard" rather than "witch", I'm assuming your interests lie more on the Ceremonial style of magic than pagan. If such is the case, there are several avenues for you to try to check out whether ceremonial or high magic is something you'd like to pursue.

First off, there are several very good, practical books on the subject, perhaps the most popular being "Modern Magick", by DM Kraig. It's a thorough grimoire of the basics of Golden Dawn style magic, and walks you through to some pretty advanced stuff. The emphasis is on practicing magic, and not just reading about it. Pretty much everyone interested in the subject has read it - give it a shot. You can also try the "Magician's Workbook", by Steve Savedow, another example of a grimoire for the beginning magician.

If either of these catches your fancy, and if the rituals and processes described within resonate with you, have a look at "Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn Tradition", by Chic and Tabatha Cicero. Theirs is a comprehensive overview of not only the practices of the Golden Dawn style magical operations, but also the theory behind it, and is intended to walk you though the first five Grades (or ranks) of the Order. You should also grab a copy of “Kabbalah, Magic and the Great Work of Self Transformation”, by Lyam Thomas Christopher, which serves as a practical study guide for Order material as presented in Regardie’s book, as well as, of course, “The Golden Dawn”, by Israel Regardie, the latter of which has, basically, all material and more you could ask for, albeit being less accessible than “Self Initiation…”.

All of the books mentioned above will have suggested reading lists. Plan on investing in a small library.

If the Golden Dawn style of magic seems appropriate for you, you can always join the Order, and participate directly, provided you don't mind a little politics. They offer home study courses and extensive coaching to get you through the various Grades. There are two rival, competing Orders today – the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (based in FLA and led by Chic Cicero - http://www.hermeticgoldendawn.org/index.... ) and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (led by David Griffin - http://www.golden-dawn.com/temple/index.... ). There’s also the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn (based in Ontario, Canada - http://www.esotericgoldendawn.com/contac... - mainly consisting on non-US residents), the one which I belong to, which is far less political and far more friendly, and has good contacts with the first of the two, above. The course materials are much the same, regardless, as are the fundamental practices and teachings of the Order, and your choice of membership will more rationally depend on accessibility and your location, as well as the connection you have with its members.

Once you’ve gotten some supervision and some basics under your belt, you can also look into the magic of the medieval grimoires, my favorites.

Magick is the power within your body. But if you really want to learn magick, you must comit yourself to abide by the rules.Magick is nothing to play around with.

You can cause different dangers if not careful.I have been working with magick for many years, and have had some pretty bad influences come to me.And truthfully,i wasn't trying to hurt anyone, but the energy that i had in me,is what caused the bad omens to come to me.So,you have to be real careful when you do magick.

I cannot tell you how to create magick, and how to perform it.It is up to you how you want to perform it as well as write your own spells. In this case, you have to cast your own spells which is part of magick.Magick is done by sending spells out into the universe whether good or bad.Once it is sent out into the universe,it is hard to unbreak the spell.I can give you some sites that are very good in learning about magick, spells, etc. But as far as giving you details on how to,than that's not going to teach you the correct way to perform magick. As i said at the top,you have to write it out for it to work.If come from inside of you, than everything can work in a positive way or negative way. That's where you learn the mistakes if you made a bad choice in your work.

Hope this helps you some and i also pasted some good links on how to write your work.

Blessed Be

No. Magick like you're talking about only happens on television and in movies.

This doesn't mean magick doesn't exist and isn't powerful, it only means that magick works within natural laws. You cannot generate a fireball out of nothing, because fireballs need some material to burn, and matter cannot be created out of nothing. Unfortunately the only magick that is real is the kind of stuff you say is "crap." It depends on the power of the mind.

In older times, people could be fooled more easily and there was a more widespread belief in the supernatural because of less understanding of natural principles. There are still people who can appear to be using supernatural powers, but they're faking it.

yes, it does, yes there is magick that can make ppl levitate and cast lightning, ext. but it is a nearly dead art of Magick that almost nobody practices anymore. You must master DREAM MAGICK, THEN RITUAL MAGICK, THEN AND ONLY THEN BATTLE MAGICK. The Best type of battle magick is to bless a wepon as part of ritual magick... but in order to make lightning you must be absolutely dedicated to your art. you must also meditate to cross into the relm of the supernatural. Then you may become one with the almighty god and use his power for battle. This is impossible to do without much practice. If you are a beginner master your dreams. Dreams are crossing over into the supernatural, practicing for death. Try to cast magick (In your dream), and talk to god and ask him what you must do to be worthy. After this, practice ritual magick by making poems and reciting them asking for something. Learn all the names of God and ask him through the names to make something happien. Then meditate, after much practice, maybe years, or decades, and become one with god and use his power... This takes a long time...

...Great magicians like the one your talking about isn't just a normal human. He was fatherless and was the prouduct of a Demon mating with a woman. Normal humans may also practice this magick, but it will be much harder to do. Your mother may have been divinely "raped" by a demon, near the time of your father sleeping with her, resulting ina half human- half mortal. All humans are the offspring of the daughters in law of noah who were descended from the nephilim which is why we can practice magick, because we are semi-divine deings. At death our spirit is released and we become fully divine, and are either a demon, or angel depending on how you acted during your life.

It does exist, but you have to be careful with what you try. One misspelling in any spell could send forth something evil. Just try to avoid ouija boards, but if you are tempted, make sure that you constantly ask "do you swear to god?" if the answer is then no you're messing with something evil.

Just go to your local book store. I go to Half Price Books since they have some of Aleister Crowley's works. If you want the real deal then look into his, although they are a bit pricey.

Very aggravating!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it happened to me a year ago with a former Yahoo ID. Question: "Which comes first: chicken or egg?" My Answer: "Chicken (alphabetical order!)" Another answerer used my identical answer after I submitted it. His was chosen Best Answer. Turned out to be a team of two persons who had a little game going where she would pose a question; he would answer; and no matter how inane (or insane) the answer, his would be chosen for the 10 points. An example -- she asked the question: "Who invented the 24 hour day?" He answered "Rolex owner", and she chose that as Best Answer.
