Right, So i got some weirdo's on my last question. Who assume that Freemasonry is associated with the devil. If that's what you think then good for you. I think 9/11 was an inside job, but i don't throw that everywhere (Accept on 9/11) In any case. The problem is this. I want to join the main ancient free and accepted branch. Because I've been told by a WM that some prince hall lodges are not recognized by some Grand Lodges. Now I'm black so getting into one (Firstly i was told where the Prince hall lodge when i tried to go to a meeting) might be a slight problem. [Even though some of you claim it's not] Now This is my issuse, I'd prefer it if only Masons or those associated with Freemasons answer the question. On a side note I'm 20 How long will it take me to get a Gold Card, and Is it possible to find a mentor (For masonary) Online even though I'm not a recognized member yet? however I'm trying to learn as much as i can.

You got weirdos anonymously answering a question about Freemasonry on Yahoo!Answers? Wow. Didn't see THAT coming! :-D

It's true that in some jurisdictions, Prince Hall Lodges aren't recognized. States that do recognize PH are: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington DC), Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.

In my opinion, Grand Lodges that don't recognize or give full recognition to Prince Hall Lodges are idiotic. But that's just me, and I live in a state that does have full recognition.

However, ALL Grand Lodges allow members of any race to join. If you went to a Lodge that directed you to a Prince Hall Lodge rather than admit you, I'd call up the Grand Lodge for that state and lodge a complaint.

I'm twice as old as you, and I don't know what a gold card is, at least as it relates to a Blue Lodge. It may be something specific to your state (In California, we've got cards for completing returns, finishing all of the Scottish Rite degrees, etc.).

If you haven't already, I'd recommend picking up a copy of Freemasonry for Dummies, it'll go a long way towards you Masonic education; Br. Chris Hodapp is a pretty smart guy, and his book covers most of the basics you'll need.

As far as a mentor goes, though, finding one online is a bit iffy; I'd find one in person, instead.

NOTES:

- David Ike has spent absolutely NO time studying Freemasonry; he's a conspiracy theorist who knows nothing other than how to get money from the pockets of the gullible.

Last I heard Prince Hall is accepted masonry but the lodges do not attend each others meetings. And you will not be able to join anything but Prince Hall. You will get a mentor from the lodge that you are accepted into. Do not look on the internet for your information. Masonry is a kept secret and most of what you see on the internet will be false. Masonry is not satan worship (what did you people think the G in the symbol was for? God!) NTM the majority of this countries founders where masons!

no need to learn anything before joining

if you are joining to get a gold card, don't, there isn't such a thing.

if you think 9/11 was an inside job you probably aren't a good candidate for freemasonry

why do you want to join in the first place?

No, it may be unconstitutional due that stupid 1st modification. Jimmy J and Proud Libertarian are appropriate that we've a top to convey jointly. besides the fact that ask the individuals at Waco and Ruby Ridge --- in case you do no longer in elementary terms like the Freemasons, purely tell the BATFE and that they'll take them out and the media would be cheering them in the process the entire ordeal.
