What are some Mythical Air or Wind creatures you can think of except Angels and Harpies. Like Dragons are fire type creatures and mermaids are water type and the fae folk (Faeries, Elves, Gnomes) are earth. I'm having a hard time coming up with Mythical creatures for Air. Can someone think of a mythical creature? Please and Thank you!

Griffins (or Gryphons), chimaeras, wyverns, hippogryphs are just some that come to mind. All of them are flying mythical creatures. Wisps (or will-o-wisps) can levitate but cannot actually fly.

In Philippine Mythology we have the 'minokawa' and the 'adarna bird'. Minokawa is a giant bird that belongs to the dragon family. Early people believed that this creature is so big that it can swallow (or cover) the sun. Adarna is a mythical bird endowed with a magical voice.

Griffins, Hippogriffs, Pegasi, Sylphs, Air (Elmental) Dragons, Roc, Air Fairies/Sprites/Spirits...I think that s about it. I hope this helps a bit. Had to do a lot of searching for this list xD Not sure if a Pegasus will count since it s a horse with wings. I mean it should because it flies in the end yea? If it can fly, then it s a sky creature so it should be considered a Mythical Air Creature. I don t know about a Phoenix though...I mean, Phoenixes are associated with Fire, yea? While a magical bird, Fire is what makes a Phoenix what it is no? Unless a Phoenix is a magical bird that based on its element can come back to life from its "ashes" literally & metaphorically perhaps? Hope I m not confusing anyone with this!

Actually I was going to say dragons, because they fly with those bat-wings.

Mothman comes to mind, and many supporters of the chupacabra insist that he / she / it can fly. There's always the UFO thing, too. In ancient mythology, pegasus and Hermes are the best examples I can think of. At least I think it's Hermes... whatever guy has the wings on his sandals is who I'm talking about. And of course there's witches flying around on their brooms.

Hope that helps.
