Nope. Of course you need permission from whoever owns the buildings you want to explore but aside from that, just give yourself a funky acronym and get investigating.

Yes. For whatever purposes, you would need a mayor's permit to enter buildings, homeowner's permit to grant you the right to enter other people's residences, and you have to register your group for it to be called legal or legitimate.

Nope, not to start up a group.

There is no legal or regulatory body governing paranormal investigations, nor is there any sort of official or recognized accreditation or licence. If you simply call yourself a paranormal investigator, you are. If you actually investigate potentially paranormal things, you definitely are.

You do need permission to investigate just about anywhere, of course. Even abandoned buildings are owned by somebody, and you'll need their permission to go there. Failure to get proper authorization can result in break-in or trespassing charges, so you want to make sure you're legit when you do it. Even public places often require permission for that sort of thing.

You just want to make sure that you do not advertise or tell customers anything that is not true. You don't want to get sued for fraud.
