I'm an old nerd--The Witch King of Angmar, still gives me the shivers 35 years after reading the book. He was a hairs breadth away from winning and there was nothing about him to like or feel sorry for, Tom Riddle is really very sad. The Witch King is something straight out of a nightmare.

Look at in terms of a fight the Witch King would win because the book said than no man will kill him, and a girl does so... Voldy is a man he couldn't do it. Also since he is the king of witches he would most likely convert Voldy to his minion. If you want the greatest villain ever read the Silmarillion and check out Morgoth he is an evil Vala (God) he is indeed the most bad @$$.

Angmar. Actually as someone said on the New York Times Editorial Page of all places the kind of villain you would want would be Long John Silver of Kidnapped who is actually CHARMING -- something neither of these gentlemen are. But Angmar has been around for centuries and something about his villainy is just more scary.

My answer is: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/images/other/Witch_king.jpg

These are the reasons why:

Lord of the Nazgul, Lord of the Nine Riders, King of the Nine Riders, the Wraith-lord, the Wraith-king, the Morgul-lord, the Morgul-king, the King of Minas Morgul, the Lord of Morgul, the Black Captain, the Captain of Despair, the Captain of Sauron, the Black Rider, the Black Shadow, the Dwimmerlaik, the High Nazgul, and the Witchking of Angmar

not to mention he fly's on a dragon and has awesome giant @$$ mace

He's completely bad @$$

not to mention the way he owns Gandalf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3VA4N1bGmA

The witch king of Angmar obviously has the upper hand. Both villains were normal humans at one point but The Witch King resembles pure evil and all that was once man is no more. Voldemort might be the evil villain but he still resembles human traits. For example, Voldemort still expresses emotion. He can be happy, sad and angry. He envies harry potter and technically is still alive.

The Witch King does not care about anything or anyone. His mind is bent on the one ring and will do anything to find the ring. He has spread devastation at a much larger scale then Voldemort. He also is not living nor dead. He follows Saurons will and would probably turn Voldemort into Saurons minion.

Voldemort, because he found a way to seperate his soul into seven different parts. Which means that if he dies, he can come back.

i vote angmar he is/was a being of power forged from power and given great power. On to p of that he doesn't need a wand to use his power so i think he wins. Also he has minions that are almost as powerful as him and a dark master with nearly endless armies willing to all die for him so yeah.

Voldemort has what a few handfuls of deatheaters, they might have J.K. Rowling's brand of magic on their side but they are mostly helpless against the armies that Angmar has (really you can only say a spell so many times until you go horse and talking is out) to throw at them and if it came down to a one on one a Ring Wraith and a Wizard the wizard cant kill what is already dead the ruled of their world don't allow it. In middle earth it was a women that had to kill Angmar just saying.

Even thought Voldemort has his seven bits of soul i dough that even if he had seven tries he will win (lacking the lady parts and all).

So i pick Angmar The End

thank you and good night
