Help w/ english assingment?

I need help w/ my english project!! I am to find modern day things that have greek mythology as an allusion. Like GoodYear tires they have the sandles of Hermes, Dove soap is called a beauty bar because dove is the symbol for Aphrodite and she was the greek goddess of beauty and love. But I can't use these. I don't know what to look for or anything. Can anyone help me like give me ideas or something of that sort. I really need it. The thing is it can't be about mythology it has to be an illusion. Like it can't be a book abort mythology. The things have to be to where it isn't directly stated that it is about mythology. But it can be about anything that is greek or Roman mythology. I am not asking for answeres but I am asking for ideas and help. Please I don't want to fail this project. Thank you for all the help you give me. Just about anything will work if it is an illusion.

Well, the planets are all named after gods.

Also...

Mercury, the messenger of the gods, is the name if a car company.

Also, the comic book character "The Flash" is a modern representation of mercury. His original costume was a mirror image of most mythological depictions of mercury. (see the images linked below)



The common symbols for Man and Woman come from the symbols for Mars and Venus (hence the "men are from mars...")



Trident gum... Poseidon's symbol was the trident.



"Stuck between a rock and a hard place" refers to Scylla and Charybdis, mythological demons.



An alarm siren is named after the sirens, who lured sailors with their calls.



Saying that something is your "lifeline" refers to the Fates, three women weavers who's string represented the lives of men. Cutting the string (or his lifeline) represented a person's death.

I did a report in my english class about the mythology symbols in the Matrix 1, 2 and 3. The French man's wife in Matriz 2 had a greek Goddess name and her character symbolized what was going on in the movie at the time. I think if you google the symbolism of the matrix you will come up with a lot of mythology and christian mythology in the matrix. I don't know if this will help. The di vinci code as a lot of so-called roman and christian religion that was suppose to have been mixed togther, though I doubt it. This was when The first counsel met at Nicea, it will claim that the roman leader at the time became a christian and combined christianity and mythology. You can google mythology symbolism and see if you can find that on products today to.

you might want to look up greek mythology -- jot down some names. Then look up their meanings. Then try to hook up some ideas to that list. good luck.
