Where Does Red Hair and Green eyes Originally Come From And What are the Myths?

Hi I would love to know where Red Hair originates from. I have looked on Google but couldn't get a straight answer, it said from varies european counties. I have natural orange red hair and green eyes, I am half Scottish and half Greek but people say I don't look Greek at all.
Which side does the Red hair come from? And What are the Myths on Red Hair? I will report silly answers. Thank you Everyone :-)

Red hair is a Nordic trait and those of Nordic descent have been all over the world and bred with the natives. Since you are 1/2 Scottish you more then likely get your Red hair and Green eyes from there.



As for myths about redheads, they include;



Fierce Tempers

A Sign of Moral Degeneration in the Person

Whore or Temptress

They are Witches, Werewolves or Vampires

They have no souls

I have red hair, blue green eyes and freckles, I'm part Scottish and part Irish but I believe the colouring comes from the Norse people.

Myth: Irish and Scottish are the source of red hair (though in your case, it seems to be accurate)



In fact, red haired people are widely known in history from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean and from Spain to Westernmost China and Mongolia. In ancient times the Persians were renowned for their red hair, and a recent PBS special (Nature, perhaps?) explored red hair among Western Asians, including Mongolians.

They say ireland, but that is a myth. Most red haired peoples origins are european. Redheads have bad tempers is also a myth. I can tell you redheads dont come from asia or latin america.

I have red hair and green eyes and left handed with a large mole on my right leg and I was born feet first, my mum said in the 15th Century I would have been burnt at the steak lol

pink hairs been around lots longer than the different issues, it originated in Europe, yet we're not sure the place. Blonde hair and lightweight colored eyes are concept to have developed around Ukraine/Russia 10,000 or greater years in the past.

red hair can be found anywhere in europe. even if the parents are not red-haired. celtic countries have many redheads but southern europe can have redheads also. i know a greek family of 3 kids and the youngest is redhead. stereotyping is not always accurate.
