Is because of the physiology of the planets?

"Mars" is associated with the (male) Greek/Roman god of war and "Venus" is associated with the (female) Greek/Roman goddess of beauty. Furthermore, it is included in the title of a relationships book released in 1993, which helped to popularize the phrase.

I'm not %100 sure on this exactly, but from what I know, Venus was typically the goddess of Love and Beauty in Roman mythology, thus, women would come from the planet named for her. Mars was the god of war. War is usually associated with men, so that may be why.

Because women are all Goddesses of love and are usually gentle nurturers and don't have as much testosterone as men. We are the lovers of our families.

Men are from Mars because they are from another planet. Don't cha' know it ladies?

LOL! We are a world apart.

I believe the saying is based on a book with that title. It demonstrates the differences between women and men.

Well, I don't know maybe Mars is better. My favorite planets are Venus and Pluto.

Because of their differences. The phrase came about because of a book by that name. People who have read it usually say it's right on, although I've never read it myself.

It may be because of that, or it may be simply we are two very different kinds of people inside a species.

because we both want different things: men want womens bodies, women want men to be as sensitive and compassionate as women but at the same time to be as strong and masculine as the typical alpha male. they also want chocolate, flowers, your credit card, breakfast in bed, you to kiss them without expecting nookie, a holiday in milan, you to know what they want without them telling you, you to stay in every friday, saturday and sunday night, kids, to be woo'd, cappuchino cofee, a tree in the garden and the leaky tap fixed. slightly one sided but i am a mans man, but if she asks i was never here, ok.

it is because it involves the phrase "worlds apart" but at a whole new level, thus giving it more depth
