Just after Macbeth and Banquo arrive, the witches dance around in a circle and say
The weird sisters, hand in
     hand,
Posters of the sea and land,
Thus do go about, about,
Thrice to thine and thrice to mine
And thrice again, to make up nine.
Peace! The charm’s wound up.

I know that thrice and thrine are 3 and know what everything means but I don't understand what they mean by it. Any help?

Thanks

It means the the three sisters dance in a circle until they have turned around 9 times (3 times for each sister) while holding hands in order to make their charm or spell work.

The weird sisters hand in hand - the witches are holding hands

Posters of the sea and land -

Thus do go about, about - they're spinning round in a circle

Thrice to thine and thrice to mine - 3 times towards you and 3 times towards me (ie three times one way and back 3 times the other way)

And thrice again to make up nine - 3 times back the first way, so it's nine times round in all (9 was a magic number)

Peace! The charm's wound up. - Then they stop (Peace!) The spell is cast
