Gregory walked through a forest one day and stumbled upon a group of strange looking people. Several of them were dancing around in a circle to music. Two of them were playing a harp and a lute. The people were very graceful and quite handsome. They looked almost completely human except for their slightly pointed ears and bright silvery hair. Their short, slender bodies were clothed in dark green clothes. There were males as well as females.

Suddenly, the music stopped and everyone of the strange beings glared at Gregory resentfully. gregory suddenly realized what these people were. They were forest Elves! He knew he had interrupted a ceremony and faced certain harm.

The leader of them was an exquisitely beautiful female with bright purple eyes and a shapely form. Her calm demeanor wiped away any apprehension Gregory had felt. "What is your name, mortal?"

"Gregory...Gregory of Waterdale."

"Gregory of Waterdale", the Elven woman said sternly. "You know the penalty for witnessing a Dance Ritual without consent? You must answer a riddle to leave unharmed. A wrong answer means certain death."

"What is the riddle?" Gregory asked nervously

"What is more precious than gold and diamonds and even love or life itself?"

"Power?'

You are wrong!!! The answer is mercy, and you shall have none!!!"

The Elves shouted in crazed fury and fell upon Gregory, tearing him to pieces.

The End.

a million) I take out my present replica of The Writer's Market and make a record of the magazines that take submissions. I appear up their internet sites and appear at which of them are presently watching for some thing like what I've written, after which I appear to look what sorts of matters they have got released ago. I check out to determine if my tale quite suits their viewers or now not. For example, if the journal is Highlights, I need to consider if my tale is right for youngsters from approximately eight to twelve. two) I could post to as many magazines as I would escape with (I've not ever submitted to a journal, so I do not know in the event that they permit simultaneous submissions or now not), however no, now not always. I could quite often choose to ship it to the magazines that reject--er, answer--the fastest on account that I am probably the most impatient person alive and on account that I care extra approximately having a tale released than I do approximately the cash. I imply, in the event you care approximately the cash, you are going to have challenge making it as a brief tale creator. BQ: I consider round eleven or 12. I had a couple of that I misplaced while my laptop died, however such a lot are nonetheless round. two: One, nevertheless it does not quite rely. I submitted it to an anthology for beginner writers that my mom's pal (who owns her possess publishing corporation) was once placing in combination. I did not receives a commission for it and it did not promote in bookstores or whatever, nevertheless it was once nonetheless beautiful cool to have a tale in print. It's undoubtedly one in all my higher experiences, and no less than I nonetheless have the copyright. three: As I mentioned, I've best submitted one tale wherever and that was once technically "authorized," nevertheless it wasn't fairly severe. I have one submission and one rejection on a novella I wrote although, and I'm now not going to lie: it harm. But it made my dermis harder. four: Around 5 years. five: It's a tale known as "Sagittarius." It's approximately a pair whose moment son is a centaur. It's truthfully a fantastic tale. It was once released in 2007, I consider.

Meh. It's all right, but it's not much of a story. Too short, no conflict to resolve, main character remains static (although dead).
