I've been watching Deadwood and every few episodes Mr. Wu's pigs have a feast of human corpses. Was pigs eating corpses common or at least something that truly did happen in olden days?

Well, they say you shouldn't trust anybody who owns a pig farm

Actually, in the "olden days" folks had more respect for the dead, not less, than we do today. Funerals and elaborate rites, wakes, mourning periods, mausoleums ... it was all very formalized.
In "Deadwood," the writers are looking for shock only. The pigs munching on human remains fall into the same category as the constant and inappropriate prophanity ... or do you really believe folks in the Old West walked around saying "F--K!" every third word?
The show is utter and complete crap. But it does have some pretty people in it.

Very few European animals will eat a human corpse (especially one of an adult - where the meat will usually be tough and rank tasting). Pigs will - but only if they are really hungry.
You would have to starve pigs to get them to eat dead human flesh - so it would never have been a sensible way of disposing of dead bodies. The pigs in 'Deadwood' are probably copied from the pigs in Thomas Harris' novel 'Hannibal'. Thomas Harris knew that there was a shock value in flesh-eating pigs, but he got his facts right. 'Deadwood' is just pap for bored teens - they don't have to try too hard.

Common? No. Possible? Yes, but only i you were very, VERY bad. Pigs will attack, you know. And though they may not eat a still-squirming human, I have no doubts that, hungry, they'll try. Slops often include meat scraps, so meat is not unknown to their diets; they're quite capable of digesting us. But, no; people did not often feed corpses to pigs. You could probably look through history and count on one hand the occasions, and still have fingers left over.

Usually one only fed human remains to the pigs if they wanted to hide the crime. Nowadays most forensic agents would be able to discover some clue. This happened in our state not too many years ago!

you opt to augment some balls and take responsiblity on your movements! you may want to no longer have agreed to take care of their puppy(s) in case you've been incapable by any skill!! Ask the vet or canine warden in the adventure that they have got a frame of mind to protecting the canine's body till your pal returns (the relatives is possibly going to opt to bury the canine themselves). once you've determined that someone is keen to carry the canine's body, contact your pal, clarify what got here about, convey regret, ask what they prefer you to do with it (enable them recognize that there is someplace threat-free and sparkling you may go away the body till they go back). i'm appalled that you may want to be so infantile and cowardly that you may want to target to conceal from this mistake! boost up.
