It is often asked, "what is the best way to kill a zombie?" This article
will inform the reader of all the basic facts and complications of zombie
slaying.
Best "way", or best weapon? To find the answer to this question, you have
to break down the fact about zombies. In short, zombies are undead people
that want to eat your brains and turn you into one of them. They are
usually slow, but quite numerous. They are not terribly intelligent, but
they do have a way of finding solutions to simple problems and getting
around obstacles. They generally like to stick together, making them
harder to pick off discreetly. They can take quite a beating, so its
important to know the best way to disable them.

Zombies can survive without their arms or entire lower body. They can even
survive for a short time without their heads. From these fact we can
conclude that going for the legs or arms are not good ideas. Every good
zombie slayer knows that the head is the weak spot. They may survive for a
few seconds afterward, but decapitating a zombie is a guarantee that they
will die. Always go for the head. Contrary to what some might say,
damaging their hearts will have little or know effect.

high-ground, so that you can see them all around you, but only have one
way into your fortress/hiding spot. This way, you can funnel the zombies,
making them more susceptible to traps, mines, etc., as well as easier to
shoot and take on one at a time. Having land mines, spike traps, or
anything that will tear them apart is always a good idea, and has proven
time and time again to be very effective.
Another important fact is that zombies are easily distracted. They are not
known for their sense of smell, so it wouldnt be hard to fool them with a
dummy or something along those lines. Distractions may prove to be perfect
to buy you the time you need. But they wont last forever, so use them when
a quick getaway is in order.
Hidouts are one of the most essential factors that can determine whether
or not you survive. Brick, metal, and stone are the best choices for a
shelter, as they provide not only a more solid barricade, they are more
resilient as well. A common house, made of plaster and drywall, will not
last. Wood is only to be used as a last resort, as it will hold zombies
off for a period of time, but not forever. Wooden boards prove to be a
decent way of blocking windows. All in all, brick or metal would still be
the best choice.
Keeping in mind that zombies are most vulnerable to damage to the head,
and being taken/blown apart, lets take a look at weapon choices.
First thing: ANY weapon is better than none. Fist-fighting a zombies is
certain death. Common household items, such as knives, broken bottles, or
wooden stakes are among the least effective weapons. If you can get your
hands on a baseball bat, or a sword, these will do an ok job, however, its
generally a good idea to avoid using melee weapons. One exception is a
chainsaw. A chainsaw is a good weapon, though not for massive groups of
zombies. Use them sparingly. Another common possession of most people is
a vehicle. Its a good way to keep moving, as well as splatter and
disassemble the living dead. But be wary of driving into huge mobs, as
this will slow you down, and eventually be your downfall. Also try to
avoid letting zombies crawl/jump onto the car. Its good to keep a shotgun
handy.
Its always better to have a gun than to not have one. Two of the three
most classic weapons for killing zombies are guns. The first being the
chainsaw, the other two: A double barreled shotgun, and a magnum revolver.
Almost any gun will do, but these are classic choices, and will never fail
you. A shotgun is essential to survival, and just about any kind will do.
Guns that shoot bigger bullets are better as well. Unlike when fighting
other humans, where the idea is to hit target location to disable the
enemy, with zombies, the idea is to inflict the most damage, usually by
putting the biggest hole in them. Try to use large caliber weapons. Also,
the faster the gun shoots, the better. The overall best gun (or weapon for
that matter) that i would ever recommend to use on zombies is the MG42. IT
has good power, shoots incredibly fast, and accurately, and has a good
sized amount of ammo. It has nearly no drawbacks. It is the BEST choice
for zombie killing. Period. But lets be realistic; we rarely have a world
war 2 machine gun lying around right? And often times, strategy, and not
weaponry, proves to be the way to survive.
