There is a big difference in speech writing and print. If you are going to deliver a speech the topic isn't nearly as important as delivery. You should incorporate some humor, a good command of your facts, keep a friendly yet informative tone, don't stray too far off topic. Keep the speech entertaining, imaginative and insightful.

Good Luck, hope you don't have stage fright.

the fact that we have "in God we trust" engraved on our money, but we won't allow prayer in public schools. (i'm not saying it's a bad thing. i just wrote a research paper on it and it did pretty well)

how racism develops and how to prevent it.

have you ever heard of the Armenian Genocide? not many people have. it's because we are in a way allied with Turkey, and they were the ones in charge of the genocide. they killed at least half of the armenian population. since we have a very strategic port in turkey, the u.s. has agreed (under the wishes of the turkic government) that we will not blame them for taking part in the armenian genocide. go to www.armenian-genocide.org

it's so sad.

It's not so much the topic as it is the content and how it's delivered.
