If you stop and think how big our solar system is, it ought to be blowing your mind - its very hard to get one's head around the colossal distances involved.
If you then consider how many other stars there are in our galaxy (the milky way), many of which possiby have their own solar systems - phew thats some gargantuan numbers we're dealing with now...
Finally picture all the other galaxies "out there", as numerous as plankton in the sea...
Personally I think its not only highly improbable that earth is the only "inteligent life" supporting planet in all that space - I also think its highly arrogant that so many people entertain the notion.

I don't know about space, there isn't any proof there is as of yet. Life on earth? What are we? Chopped liver?
It's not the Jedi Way.....

I personally don't know and feel pretty safe here, so I don't think I will explore for life in space

I sure hope so!!
I would feel rather lonely and depressed to think that we are the only sentients in all the universes.
That would make us the freak of nature, not the two headed dog.

We may never be able to find out if each one of us has his own axe to grind.

I dunno if there is life in space. But the universe is huge. It wouldn't surprise me if there is.
