Question:
Witchcraft being a curse?!?

I'm not going to name any names (I'm expecting a post from them on here), but someone is really winding me up by trying to claim that "witchcraft is a curse handed down generations".

Can some enlightened witches please try and get rid of this slander with me?

With thanks, as always,

Pan

Well I believe stupidity is a curse, and some people have that. As for witchcraft being a curse, we know it is not in fact I consider it a gift. I have recently discovered that I have relatives that were executed for witchcraft in the late 1600's in Scotland, so I guess this person would think I was born with this curse as well then. We cannot expect people that are not in harmony with nature and that do not have a relationship with the Gods and Goddesses, and have the abilities to channel the energies around us to understand us. We are the ones that are blessed that we have discovered our paths that we were predestined for. Others will continue to slander and ridicule us but in actuality they are likely envious of us. Blessed be.

This individual really doesn't understand the concepts behind Witchcraft if they're spilling this type of tripe to people.

Yes, Witchcraft is a practice, a set of skills. Yes, it can be handed down from generation to generation. A Curse? Absolutely Not!! Not once have I ever thought of my practices as a curse or something I regret learning. I have loved everything I ever learned regarding Witchcraft (though not loved many of the people I encountered who practice too, as there are arrogant people in all walks of life and in every practice).

I wouldn't worry too much about people who love to hear the sound of their own voices. They talk out of vanity, not because they have something to contribute.

EDIT: Lynn - The major reason nothing "bad" ever happened to you after your encounters with Witches is because they never did anything in the first place. Witches generally don't cast spells on people they only just met on the street (or where ever), regardless if one is rude or not to them, so don't be shocked or disappointed that you have yet to get a result from a Witch...it's probably not going to happen.

If I had a $1 for every time someone brought up a myth connected to bloodlines......

While genetics has proven that certain traits can be emphasized within a certain linneage, most people actually forget that those bloodlines actually had to come from somewhere, start from something. In other words, even if your great-great-great-great-great grandmother, all the way up to you, have been witches, there had to be a grandmother somewhere back there who didn't know an herb from a vegetable.

In my opinion, bloodlines are overrated. Some of the worst witches out there have documented bloodlines, which just goes to show that talent is the result of hard work as much as anything.

As for it being a 'curse', that's someone pulling your dramatic leg. Curses and magickal powers are the plots of books and in the minds of authors who wish for things. You obviously know this person doesn't know their butt from a hole in the ground so don't worry.

"it is a tale

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

Signifying nothing."

Whaaaaa???

Witchcraft is a practice - a set of skills (quite literally, a craft). Such knowledge is sometimes handed down from generation to generation.

As I was growing up, my Mom taught me about agriculture and about natural/herbal health and healing, and helped me learn to better trust my intuition, as well as got us involved in community service projects and other such things. I didn't start formerly training as a witch until adulthood though.

The only cursing I'm doing is at my computer when it goes all wonky and boots me out of what I'm working on, like it did earlier today.

Don't believe it for a minute. Witchcraft is a practice, a religion, not a curse. It can be taught from grandmother to mother to daughter, yes, but it is NOT a curse.

Stupidity is a curse handed down from generation to generation, looks like it didn't skip the person who told you that load of old bollocks.

We create our own reality.........so if this is what you believe it will be your reality or theirs..........Times are changing and so are the energies

that open us up to new awareness and this is just another one of those

beliefs based in fear that carried through the 3rd/4th dimension....

Expanded awareness in science and spirituality shows we create our reality as a reflection of our inner perception.

They don't have any power over you unless you believe they do. I have met witches and they said their thing and I'm like 'whatever' nothing bad ever happened because of a witch, to me, so just leave them alone and you will be fine.
