If King Arthur lived it was literally in the first generation of the Dark Ages. He's been used and abused as political propaganda since the time the Romances were written down -- Robert Graves said the Normans after the Conquest had an interest in a hero who like them rode a horse and like them fought the Saxons. The story goes that around 1000 CE the monks of Glastonbury claimed to have found a grave inscribed "Here lies Arthur, once and future king" ("Rex quondam, Rexque Futurus"). Most monasteries and churches had an economic interest in attracting pilgrims -- Bari in Italy so openly stole St. Nicholas's bones from Myra Turkey is demanding their repatriation. It's possible the monks made up all or part of the story, but Arthur has been used and abused by people with an agenda since the start of the Second Millenum at least.

There are several eclipses per year, and there are several meteor showers per year. Odds are not exactly that amazing.

King Arthur is a legend but I shutter to think how they are twisting it to make him sound scary. In the original legend Arthur is a great king who unites the kingdoms of Europe. He's not a scary figure.

You should read the real stories instead of the mangled Disneyfied version.

King Arthur, is both an historical figure who really lived, as well as being a legend based on folklore, myths, history, & imagination. The only wat he could be a "svary figure" would be to anyone who is evil & his enemy. I dread to think what the Disney channel has done to him!! ......... King Arthur, as an Historical figure, was no more than a Celtic warlord or cheif of his own small area iin Wales. It was his dream to unite all of the Celtic 'Kingdoms' under just one rule. When this dream began to become a reality, he built his castle in Tintagel, Cornwall. He united all of England under one rule, but it was not his intention to become the King himself. That was decided by Merlin. (or rather, the Merlyynn). Much of what is said about Merlin in legends is true, but much of it is false as well. The main role that Merlin played was, he was Arthur's advisor. (although to Merlin he knew that he was advising & teaching the future King.) ...... From here, History becomes mixed with Legends & not all of King Arthur, so it is here that I stop.
