Question:
Why ghosts only appear at night or in the dark? What is with EMF hypotheses? AND OTHER QUESTIONS?

Why is that, every time a "ghost hunting"show comes on on air why are they always researching in the dark? Are ghosts afraid of day light?
What is with this EMF hypothesis? I work at a power plant and none of us get dizzy walking around all the energy, so what it the deal?
I have heard of cat ghosts and dogs, why not chickens or better Dinosaurs?
Now, the violent death thing, I have been told that those who die violent deaths or unexpected deaths are more susceptible to wander, why are there not Roman Soldiers in the great battlefields of Europe,or knights templar, as people say that there are Civil War soldiers haunting Gettysburg? There are no ghosts in the beaches of Normandy.
If your house is haunted, wouldn't you try to record the ****? No one ever records anything, and the majority of the ones that do only catch "orbs". I am not a disbeliever, as a matter of fact I do believe and respect, but I am trying to understand the crap on TV.

Whoah, there's about a dozen questions in there!

Here goes: 'Ghost Hunting' TV shows are about filling an hour of TV. End of story. You can forget any serious attempt at real research. They film in darkness with night-vision gear to evoke a 'spooky' atmosphere for the shrieking presenters and credulous viewers. They want shocks, dramatic jumps at every 'whatwasthat' noise, and to fill their advertising space. That's all.

There was a tremendous expose of these shows on UK tv - they found an old Georgian coach-yard, and made up a totally fictional history for it, complete with a tragic death and a - completely invented - ghost story. They put this information out across the web, then announced they were doing a 'Ghost Hunt' show and called some 'experts' - psychics, mediums, self-professed ghost-hunters. Every one of them turned up and started spouting the whole fictional story, word for word. They'd just googled it! The psychics even claimed to 'make contact' with the spirit of the guy who the scriptwriters had invented!

It's pure BS, and it discredits any attempt at serious research.

Re: chickens & dinosaurs... well, I don't know of any dino-ghosts (is that a word? It is now!) but there are a huge range of other animals - birds, horses, Gef the Talking Mongoose (google that one, seriously.)

And with daylight hauntings - many recorded claims.

As for Roman soldiers: http://www.mysteriousbritain.co.uk/map/Roman+Hauntings

If you're not familiar with that kind of thing, you should really read more about the topic. That's not a dig, or anything... just that you'd probably find it interesting.

EMF? Impossible to say. The hand-held junk sold for ghost-hunting does not have to conform to any statutory standard, and the people using it probably don't know if it's calibrated (or how to do so.)

Let's face it, most of it's supporters think: "Needle moves? Ghost. Something makes noise? Ghost. Cold breeze? Ghost."

Many scientists use incredibly sensitive EMF technology in many fields of research, and they don't appear to suffer from supernatural interference with their readings. I think that speaks volumes.

My personal opinion on most hauntings happening at night? I've worked years of night shifts, in various hospitals, all with their ghost stories.

Here's the deal. We're not designed to be awake at night. Our brain is at it's fuzziest and most easily misled. Our attention is at it's lowest, and our nerves may be jumpy. A door slips off it's catch and bangs at 2 a.m. and before you know it, "Nurse Smith saw the door open and close on its own." Same door slips off it's catch in broad daylight, you'd shrug and call maintenance.

Shadows become 'shadowy figures'. We catch glimpses of flapping curtains, and our brain just 'fills in the blanks'.

(That's a BIG one.

You can try that for yourself just by looking at a clock, reading the time, then looking away. Now stop and think: did you go round the clock and READ all the numbers? Of course you didn't. You noticed the position of the hands, and you trusted your mind to 'fill in' the rest of the picture.)

Unfortunately, at 2 a.m. in a darkened hospital corridor, you see a shadow and your mind 'fills in' a threatening figure, and you damn near soil your scrubs!

Hope that helps!

all of the regular hauntings usually happen at night which i find kind of strange because many people believe that ghost gather energy from the surrounding area to manifest or move objects. Because there is light energy and heat as well as the already existing alternate sources of energy it would seem easier to manifest during the day than at night.

regarding your violent deaths area you are wrong on all accounts. There are legends of every battle known to man research the stories they are everywhere

Some people do record these things while others are too scared to they run like little babies in stead of taking time to study an otherwise interesting phenomenon

HOWEVER certain ghost hunting shows are nothing more than an elaborate setup to make money off of the fears of regular people. Do you really think that a ghost is going to make a cameo for their season finale

Keep in mind that in the paranormal world, not many facts are known. Theories are all that we have. Ghosts don't appear at night, they can manifest anytime they want. There are many reasons why they investigate at night. One is because of the traffic. If people are seeing reflections of lights in the house it is easier to figure that out at night. Another is the theory that spirit shadows are darker than the night, so it is easier to see them. I know it may not seem like it, but it is. With the EMF, not everyone is hyper sensitive to high EMFs. Another theory is that ghosts can draw energy from the EMFs and manifest themselves. I don't have an answer about the animal spirits, never really encountered one. There are reports of ghosts from armies past around the world, you don't hear about them much because they are in foreign countries and not many investigate those sights. As far as orbs go, they are not ghosts. Orbs are naturally collected balls of energy, much like little balls of lightning. One reason people don't always catch anything on a recording is one of two reasons. One is that activity does not happen on command. The other is that not all sounds voices and apparitions are strong enough to be caught on recorder. There have been times in my investigations where I have heard unexplained voices and the equipment did not pick them up.

I hope the information I gave you helps. If not, or you need more information, or have more questions, please contact me and I will try my best to help you.

Spirits don't have as much power during the day, they are creatures of dark. That is why the Dark Time of the year (such as we are in right now) has more hauntings, etc. than during the summer.

Not familiar with the EMF hypothesis, so can't answer

I think you need to be at a certain level on the evolutionary scale before hauntings....and, truth be told, I don't think the ghost dogs and cats are real dog or cat ghosts, but spirits of people able to change shape into those animals. Animals don't have individual identities, which you need in order to become a spirit.

When people have been dead long enough, such as with the knights, or Roman soldiers, etc., they tend to stop becoming corporeal and simply become spirits of the land itself. It is very hard to record things, most people don't think about doing that. Most spirits can't materialize or make sounds of their own. Some can move things, but they have to be very powerful to affect the material plane in any real way.

they film those shows in the dark to make them more scary and also there is less sound interruption at night.

i dont know if im a believer or not but my grandmother swears her old place was haunted. i have a few memories from when i was about 4-5yrs old of things like glasses randomly breaking, taps turning on etc. most of it was during the day. i dont know if these are stories i heard and just think they are memories though.

It's much easier to scare people with these "fake" ghost stories when it's dark outside. People are more susceptible to being scared when they can't see anything due to the darkness. These shows have to be rigged! Who knows what's going on out of the camera line, behind the scenes. Most of it can be explained by camera trickery and other electronic fakery!

Ghost can be seen 24/7 and most people have no idea that what they are seeing is a spirit...............

They do not just appear at night. That is just when most show up.
