what does "WE ARE LEGION" mean?

My Friend was just freaked out with 25 text messages. all from different numbers. some said "WE ARE LEGION" and others said "LOVE US." i'm trying to figure out what the texts mean. anyone know?

That comes from a story in the bible. A man is being possessed by multiple devils(demons) at the same time, and then Jesus comes and asks the guy who is possessing him, and the answer, "We are legion, and we are many."( which means, all of us do what the other does, we act as one, we are one poweful force, yet we are many)( that's the demons talking)

And then Jesus casts Legion( the name of the demons) and Legion possesses a herd of pigs and makes them jump of cliffs and into the sea.

I don't know why everyone thinks its from a vampire story? Because its not.



Oh ya, so the texts are just a prank, because a demon wouldn't posses a phone. And really has no reason to go after you.

It does mean "there are lots of us" but it's not from a vampire story, unless there are vampires in the Bible I don't know about. It's from a story about a man who is possessed by demons and Jesus fixes him up by evicting the demons. Jesus has a little chat with the squatters beforehand and asks for names. The demons reply "Legion" because there are so many of them.

Oh - we don't have the slightest idea - but it's a terrifically interesting line, isn't it? First you'd have to find the original word used in Greek in the bible - and then get an interpretation from somebody who knows the ancient language.



We think of this line meaning a lot of very unhappy spirits from the pit of Hell - but it would be more fun to track down as close to the original words as possible.

Unfortunately, it means please. I started hating chat abbreviations since the first time I saw them. Is it too hard to type complete words? I mean, it only takes SECONDS to type the complete word, PLEASE people, stop being so damn lazy. I understand acronyms, but don't abbreviate every single freakin' word!
