I am currently in my final year at school and have to complete a final research paper. I chose the subject of greek mythology in literature and i wanted to study one modern/contemporary book or novel to study how its been influenced by mythology. My first idea was the Harry Potter Series because it is not completely obvious, but still pertinent. However, it is not a high enough standard of literature to study so i was wondering if you knew any other books that i could study? Preferably not a teen series like Percy Jackson, and not rewritten myths?
Thank you

How 'modern' does it have to be? Because Shakespeare is Full of Greek mythology references.

I'm not sure whether this is really helpful:

"The Labours of Hercules" by Agatha Christie

There is a lot of Greek Mythology in criminal literature.

Of course, nearly every book including a father-son conflict could be a reference to Oedipus.

Could "Life of Pi" be interesting?

(Odyssey)

Edit: The last idea is definitely the best one.
